Hanwha Q CELLS and AGR Break Ground on 24.3 MW Photovoltaic Plant in UK

  • 94,500 Q.PRO-G3 modules to produce around 22,445 MWh per year
  • PV plant near Cambridge strengthens Hanwha Q CELLS´ presence in UK
  • Offering development, planning, construction capability and high performance modules
    in partnership with AGR

UK based developer AGR teams up with Hanwha Q CELLS to deliver a new, 24.3 MW solar installation in Stowbridge, Cambridgeshire. Once complete, the ground-mounted plant will boast a total of 94,500 Q.Pro-G3 solar panels generating an estimated 22,445 MWh of clean energy per year - enough to power 24,800 local households and save approximately 9,650 tons of carbon emissions each year.

AGR, a leading UK renewable energy developer specialising in utility scale PV and medium scale wind, lead the project development of the Stowbridge project, with Hanwha Q CELLS, one of the world’s leading photovoltaics companies, taking the lead on construction, delivering the park under an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contract and supplying its "Engineered in Germany" PV modules. Completion of the project and full grid connection is scheduled for March 2014.

Full-Service-Provider in power plant solutions

Competitive LCOE (Levelized Cost of Electricity) for secure ROI

The competitive LCOE of the power plant are a consequence of its low BOS (Balance of System) cost, low running cost and best in class yields. The latter two will be ensured by the high quality and high performance Q CELLS solar modules, featuring Q.ANTUM technology, Anti PID, Hot-Spot Protect and leading low-light performance. Additionally the minimal construction times and the successive connection to the grid with cascade structures reduce cost further and ensure the earliest possible yields of the plant.
