Hanwha Life is Korea's oldest and second-largest life insurer.

Founded in 1946, the current focus of Hanwha Life is on sales force expansion and specialisation to enhance its competitive edge in both coverage and the pension products marketplace.

Hanwha Life also continues to deliver compelling new pension and health insurance products and to carefully cultivate opportunities to enhance its offering to customers through affiliated channels such as agency marketing, bancassurance, and phone and internet sales.

In addition to offices in Tokyo, London, Beijing, and New York, the company is steadily expanding into new markets. In 2009, the company has started selling insurance in Vietnam.

In 2012, SinoKorea Life, a joint venture operation that it formed in conjunction with Zhejiang International Business Group, began operations. It also acquired Multicor Life Insurance in Indonesia. This facilitated the company’s development into a truly global player, with a focus on emerging markets in Southeast Asia.

In 2012, Sino-Korea Life had begun operation which is a joint-venture between Hanwha Life and Zhejiang International Business Group.
