Hanwha Q CELLS and Voltalia Offer Clean Energy to 2,600 Households in the South of France

  • 4.483 MWp PV power plant in Le Castellet features 16.918 Q CELLS Q.PEAK G2 modules
  • ‘Engineered in Germany’ modules with low carbon footprint

A new PV power plant with Q CELLS PV modules provides energy for approximately 2,600 households in Le Castellet, which is located in the South of France. The plant has already been connected to the grid and was realized by experienced EPC Voltalia. The EPC chose the Q CELLS Q.PEAK G2 265 Wp modules due to their high performance and efficiency as well as their top quality. Additional benefits such as the modules being manufactured in the EU and engineered in Germany made the decision in favour of Q CELLS easy.

“We decided to deploy the Q CELLS Q.PEAK G2 modules for various reasons, including their high efficiency, premium quality and the fact that they have a low carbon footprint, which was guaranteed by being engineered and produced in Germany” said Ludovic Fort, Chief Operating Officer, Voltalia. “I want to add that Voltalia and Hanwha Q CELLS have worked closely together to successfully deliver all the panels in an expeditious way allowing “Le Parc Solaire du Castellet” to be the first solar power plant commissioned in France amongst all the projects awarded at the 2012 auction process issued by the French Energy Regulation Commission (CRE)”.

Voltalia installed the Q CELLS modules between the end of May and the beginning of July 2013 after ground preparations. Once the installation was finalized, it was connected to the grid and now supplies Le Castellet households with solar energy. Hanwha Q CELLS positioned itself as a reliable, trustworthy partner for sustainable, high-quality PV projects in Europe and beyond.

“The collaboration with Voltalia was excellent and extremely professional,” said Stephan Maurel, Director Cells & Modules, Q CELLS France. “Providing approximately 2,600 4-people-households with clean energy is a great achievement, which we are proud to be a part of. In addition, our high-performance Q.PEAK G2 modules ensure that the installation at Le Castellet will be able to supply solar energy to the grid for a long time.”
