Since its establishment in 1952, Hanwha has left a lasting mark in rebuilding post-war South Korea and developing the country’s economy and industries, driven by its founding philosophy of fostering social growth and prosperity and upholding the spirit of trust and loyalty. This pioneering spirit — built on a willingness to embrace difficult decisions — remains deeply rooted in all of Hanwha’s businesses today.

Our drive to innovate beyond conventional boundaries has played a key role in developing some of South Korea’s leading industries, including aerospace, defense, energy, maritime solutions, materials, finance, mechatronics, and retail & services, while raising our global profile.

Hanwha contributes to global security through integrated defense capabilities that span land, sea, air, and space. We are also building a sustainable marine industry ecosystem through decarbonization technologies, eco-friendly vessels, and marine energy solutions. At the same time, we are leading efforts to address two of the world’s most pressing challenges — the energy transition and climate change — with integrated energy solutions encompassing solar, wind, hydrogen, and LNG.

In the aerospace industry, we are shaping the future of economic infrastructure with our launch vehicles and satellite technologies. Our efforts also extend across global finance, AI-driven digital innovation, advanced manufacturing and robotics, as well as innovative retail and service platforms — all aimed at creating a better tomorrow for individuals, society, and the planet.
