• Launched at MSPO 2026 in Poland with real-time AI analysis of live satellite imagery
• Fuses EO and SAR data to extract key intelligence with world-leading technology
• Boosts Hanwha weapons systems — “completing a space-ground integrated infrastructure”
Hanwha Systems held a launch event for its Space AI Solution at MSPO 2026 in Kielce, Poland, on Sept. 9, attended by key representatives from the global space and defense industries
Hanwha Systems, a leading Korean defense company, has unveiled its newly developed next-generation satellite imagery analysis technology, the “Space AI Analytics Solution,” in an overseas market for the first time.
The company announced today that it held a launch event for the “AI-powered Satellite Imagery Analytics Solution” on September 9 (local time) in Kielce, Poland, at MSPO 2026, Eastern Europe’s largest defense exhibition, before an audience of key figures from the global space and defense industries. At the event, Hanwha Systems demonstrated AI’s real-time analysis of imagery captured over Eastern Europe by an operational satellite.
The Space AI Analytics Solution, which means AI-powered Satellite Imagery Analytics Solution, uses AI to precisely interpret and analyze image data transmitted from satellites to ground stations, then summarizes and delivers key information. By automatically performing functions such as object detection, situational pattern analysis, and anomaly detection, the AI supports faster, more accurate decision-making for commanders and operators.

In military contexts, the solution can precisely track enemy movements and troop routes. In disaster scenarios, it can analyze changes to buildings and terrain in areas of interest to quickly assess pre- and post-disaster damage.
The solution supports analysis of imagery from both types of existing Earth observation satellites — electro-optical (EO) and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) — fusing the data to derive optimal insights for each situation. AI solutions capable of integrated analysis across the two satellite data types are considered among the most advanced in the global market.
SAR satellites, one of Hanwha’s flagship space products, can capture clear imagery day or night and in adverse weather, but their black-and-white radar images are difficult to interpret visually. The Satellite AI Solution identifies aircraft, ships, and vehicles in SAR imagery within seconds and dramatically enhances resolution, while fusing in high-resolution EO satellite imagery to offset these limitations. The solution also features a dedicated interface linking it with Hanwha’s strike systems including the K9 self-propelled howitzer and Chunmoo, fire direction control systems, and multiple rocket launcher, which is expected to significantly improve the operational efficiency of Hanwha’s broader weapon systems.
A Hanwha Systems official said the world-class Space AI Solution is a game-changer that transforms satellite data from simple collection into immediate reconnaissance and tactical intelligence, adding that Hanwha Group will continue to build out its proprietary space-ground integrated infrastructure and lead the global defense and space markets going forward.
