Hanwha Hotels & Resorts – headed by Mr. Hong Won-ki, CEO of H&R and vice chairman of the Hanwha group – signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Jin Jiang International Hotels, the biggest hospitality group in China that will step up Hanwha’s advance into the Chinese market.
Hanwha Hotels & Resorts struck the mutual cooperation agreement with Jin Jiang International Hotels at the Orchid Room of Jin Jiang Tower in Shanghai, China. The MOU signing ceremony was held in the presence of more than 20 executives and leading members from both organizations, including Mr. Hong from Hanwha Hotels & Resorts and Mr. Simon Zhang, CEO of Jin Jiang International Hotels.
Under this significant MOU, the two companies – leading domestic hotel brands & resorts in South Korea and China, respectively –have agreed to cooperate strategically to grow together as one of the world’s best leisure service providers. On the back of this deal, both parties will share management skills and support each other’s operations by offering international sales promotion support, public relations support, staff cross-training programs, and shared benefit programs for members and employees, as well as by developing food and beverage PR campaigns together.
Hanwha Hotels & Resorts will use the agreement with Jin Jiang International Hotels, the biggest hotel group in Asia and the ninth-largest in the world, as an opportunity to carry out a variety of large-scale public relations and sales promotion campaigns to tell China and the world about Hanwha’s leisure and service brands, including its “Hanwha Resort” and “THE PLAZA” brands.
Importantly, both companies will provide more convenience for their customers visiting South Korea or China by enhancing the competitiveness of their products and services. Customers will benefit from the organizations cooperating closely to raise brand awareness, supporting each other’s marketing activities, sharing membership benefit programs, and providing cross-training programs for their staff members and chefs. Furthermore, the two parties will work hand in hand to find and develop their common interests as strategic business partners and enter new markets.
Mr. Hong said, “Considering South Korea sees more than 4 million visitors from China annually, the MOU is very significant to Hanwha Hotels & Resorts. Through the agreement, the company will strengthen its endeavors to advance into the Chinese market, and Hanwha will spare no efforts to grow together with Jin Jiang International Hotels as one of the world’s best leisure service providers.”
Mr. Zhang said, “I am delighted that this MOU will provide us with an opportunity to establish a cooperative partnership with Hanwha Hotels & Resorts. We look forward to the mutual benefits and synergy brought by the deal. Through this agreement, Jin Jiang International Hotels will do its utmost to increase our brand awareness in South Korea.”
Meanwhile, Hanwha Hotels & Resorts is also expanding its efforts to advance into other areas of the Chinese market. In food service, its Food Culture division has advanced into the Chinese feeding business and operates around 40 business places in China. In the aquarium business, Hanwha Aqua Planet is exporting its operational know-how to China.
Hanwha Hotels & Resorts began operations in 1979 as the developer of South Korea’s first resort condominium project. It joined Hanwha in 1986. With resort, hotel, and food service businesses, we are rapidly becoming South Korea’s premier leisure and food service provider.
