Our Commitment

Hanwha’s Global ESG Committee

The Role and Structure of the
Hanwha Group's ESG Committee

Hanwha Group formed the Hanwha Group ESG Committee in May of 2021 to carry out Group-level ESG activities and to support and advise our affiliates on ESG management.

The Role and Structure of
Hanwha Affiliate ESG Committees

As of 2025, Hanwha Group has established ESG Committees within the board of directors for each of its nine listed affiliate companies (Hanwha Corporation, Hanwha Solutions, Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha Systems, Hanwha Life, Hanwha General Insurance, Hanwha Investment & Securities, Hanwha Ocean, and Hanwha Galleria) and three of its non-listed affiliate companies (Hanwha Asset Management, Hanwha Energy, and Hanwha Hotels & Resorts).

ESG Management Performance

Earning Grade A ESG ratings

Through our efforts to actively implement ESG management, we received an overall Grade A rating for five of the listed Hanwha companies in the 2024 environmental, social, and governance (ESG) ratings conducted by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS). In the environmental category, eight of our companies, including Hanwha Life, received a Grade A for excellent responses to environmental issues. In the social category, six of our companies, including Hanwha Solutions and Hanwha Life, received a Grade A+ for work in social responsibility and expanded stakeholder communications.
Hanwha’s commitment to sustainability was further recognized in the 2024 Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) evaluation, a globally respected non-profit initiative, with major Hanwha companies earning awards across multiple categories. Hanwha Aerospace was named to the Carbon Management Honors Club (top five companies) and received the Carbon Management Sector Honors in the industrial sector. Hanwha Corporation also received the Carbon Management Sector Honors in the same category. Hanwha Solutions received both the Carbon Management Sector Honors in the raw materials category and the Excellence Award for Water Management, while Hanwha Advanced Materials was recognized with the Special Award for Carbon Management for its voluntary participation — further demonstrating Hanwha’s capabilities in climate change response.
